Cultural Italy Blog: Art, Coffee & Love

Buon San Valentino!

Ciao from romantic Italy!

This country is known as one of the most romantic places in the world. Antique architecture, picturesque towns, magnificent landscapes and Latin-lover-characters definitely help to keep un with this Italian stardust image.

However, the question is WHAT IS THE MOST ROMANTIC CITY OF ITALY?

“Voices from the Blogs” (spin-off of University of Milan that studies social media phenomena) has analyzed more than 40 millions posts published all over Italy during the last year to answer this question.

The results surprise!

This year among all Italian locations it is Bolzano (South Tyrol) to be the number-one romantic city of Italy. Benevento (Campania) got the silver medal. And Bari (Apulia), absolute  leader of the last year, is the third one of the list.

And what about our beloved Rome, Florence, Napoli and Venice? The survey shows that small Italian towns (except Bari) are far more romantic than big cities. For this reason, an independent chart was designed for the famous Italian capitals.

But even there Florence is only number six. It is followed by Rome. And Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliette, is only number 8.
