Savor the Tastes: Plan with your Palette in Mind

As Summer warmth brings Autumn's harvest, so brings a change from play to exploration of tastes and attitudes.

While some may favor the experience of cooking, others may enjoy a more curated experience. Named by Travel and Leisure as one of the 'World's Best Restaurants of 2019' Antichi Sapori defines itself by the old world traditions of Puglia. Fresh ingredients, local flavors and a founder who insists that 'it is not forbidden to enter the kitchen' Antichi Sapori becomes a destination.

Known as the Food Valley, the Emilia Romagna region provides a bounty of tastes to explore. Home to Parmasean Cheese, Porcini Mushrooms, Prosciutto and much more, there's an abundance of food festivals to enjoy:

On the 125th anniversary of its first exhibition La Biennale is making history out of its history. For the first time an exhibit is using materials from its Historical Archives of Contemporary Art – ASAC to represent all sectors:  Visual Arts, Film, Dance, Music, Theatre and Architecture. And for the first time La Biennale’s six Art directors collaborated to design a journey through key moments in which Biennale and 20th Century history have met in Venice.  The exhibition shall take place in the Central Pavilion, with an itinerary through six disciplines and different phases: the years of Fascism (1928-1945); from Cold war to New World Order (1948-1964); from 1968 until Carlo Ripa di Meana’s Biennials (1974-78); from Postmodernism at the first International Architecture Exhibition to the 1990's and Globalization.

Inspired by the famous concert of Maestro Luciano Pavarotti and friends, this concert features Domenico Tegliafilo, a student of Maestro Luciano Pavarotti; Adriano Gentili, who received his diploma in vocal performance at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia; and Andrea Pecci, actor and opera singer.

This international festival offers 13 appointments and three world premieres, between baroque and classic, cross-over, jazz and pop, events for small spectators, music by today's composers, with international artists and emerging talents.

New Regions to Explore: The Adriatic Sea

Alex Polizzi’s Secret Italy takes viewers into the less-explored region of Le Marche (Mark-eh). The stunning landscapes and unexplored beaches are just a snippet of what visitors will find here. The Macerata Opera Festival is preparing for a year of celebratory events that will culminate in the program for summer 2021. Its InclusivOpera program gives opportunities for visitors who experience visual or hearing loss ways to experience opera. Visit the ancient ruins of Helvia Recina. And don’t forget the shoe shopping in the birthplace of this craft!

Closer to Rome and just as delightful is the Abruzzo Region. Here is where you’ll drink the region’s famous Montepulciano d’Abruzzo wine, horseback ride through the Gran Sasso Monti della Laga Park or spend time at the Adriatic Sea. Many are finding this area to be a great place to retire.

Visit the area with our Cooking, Wine and Grape Harvest tour.

Vacations for the Soul
“We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.” — Paulo Coehlo
