CAPITOLINE MUSEUMS
The oldest public collection in the world. It holds the original equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius. Sculptures like the Venere Capitolina and paintings by Tiziano, Bellini, Caravaggio and others.

MUSEUM CASTEL SANT’ANGELO

This castle was build by Adrian as a mausoleum for himself and his lineage and presently is host to a military and renowned art museum. During its history, the structure served as a military fortress as well as a prison.

GALLERIA DORIA PAMPHILJ
This formerly noble palace offers a great collection of paintings by Tintoretto, Tiziano, Parmigianino, Guercino, Bernini, Correggio, Bassano, A. Carracci, G. Reni, Brueghel il Vecchio e Caravaggio. Hot find: portrait of Pope Innocenzo X by Velazquez.

ETRUSCAN MUSEUM OF VILLA GIULIA
This is the major museum of Etruscan civilitation in Italy, with a great collection of artifacts from the VIII through the V century B.C.

PALAZZO ALTEMPS
Sculptures from the Mattei, Ludovisi and Altemps collections are featured at this Palace from the 15th century. The Palace also has a breathtaking courtyard.

NATIONAL GALLERY OF ANCIENT IN BARBERINI PALACE
The palace was designed by Maderno and finished by Bernini. It hosts paintings from the XII to the XVII century, and also furniture, maiolics and ceramics.

CARACALLA’S BATHS
The most beautiful and luxurious public baths of Rome. Its labyrinth of pipes delivered water to 1600 bathers.

PALAZZO MASSIMO ALLE TERME
The palace has been completely restored and holds important statues, floor mosaics coming from Roman villas, and the reconstruction of entire rooms of the Villa of Livia. An extremely rich numismatic collection.

NATIONAL GALLERY OF PALAZZO CORSINI
Seat of the Arcadian Academy of Queen Christine of Sweden, it contains Roman finds of the Imperial Age and 16th and 17th century paintings.

SPADA GALLERY
Housed in the palace of the same name, in which Borromini designed the colonnaded gallery in false perspective, the gallery holds works by important artists, mainly of the 17th century.

CENTRALE MONTEMARTINI
In the former Montemartini electric power plant, 400 sculptures coming from the Capitoline museums. A unique combination of classical art and industrial machinery.

The famous funeral monument, dating from the last decade of the Ancient Roman Republic.

Curious of international filmmaking? cameras, projectors, posters, etc.
Also, an amazing collection of Italian silent films.

EXPLORA, THE CHILDREN MUSEUM OF ROME
Explora is the first museum in Rome aimed at children, who can touch and play with everything on display.

Remains of the theater built by Balbus in 13 b.c. From the 4th century throughout the middle ages, its spaces were used as tombs, artisans shops and religious buildings

GIORGIO DE CHIRICO HOUSE-MUSEUM
