CAPITOLINE MUSEUMS
The oldest public collection in the world. It holds the original equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius. Sculptures like the Venere Capitolina and paintings by Tiziano, Bellini, Caravaggio and others.

MUSEUM CASTEL SANT’ANGELO
This castle was build by Adrian as a mausoleum for himself and his lineage and presently is host to a military and renowned art museum. During its history, the structure served as a military fortress as well as a prison.

GALLERIA DORIA PAMPHILJ
This formerly noble palace offers a great collection of paintings by Tintoretto, Tiziano, Parmigianino, Guercino, Bernini, Correggio, Bassano, A. Carracci, G. Reni, Brueghel il Vecchio e Caravaggio. Hot find: portrait of Pope Innocenzo X by Velazquez.

ETRUSCAN MUSEUM OF VILLA GIULIA
This is the major museum of Etruscan civilitation in Italy, with a great collection of artifacts from the VIII through the V century B.C.

Sculptures from the Mattei, Ludovisi and Altemps collections are featured at this Palace from the 15th century. The Palace also has a breathtaking courtyard.

NATIONAL GALLERY OF ANCIENT IN BARBERINI PALACE
The palace was designed by Maderno and finished by Bernini. It hosts paintings from the XII to the XVII century, and also furniture, maiolics and ceramics.

PALAZZO MASSIMO ALLE TERME
The palace has been completely restored and holds important statues, floor mosaics coming from Roman villas, and the reconstruction of entire rooms of the Villa of Livia. An extremely rich numismatic collection.

SPADA GALLERY
Housed in the palace of the same name, in which Borromini designed the colonnaded gallery in false perspective, the gallery holds works by important artists, mainly of the 17th century.
