The palace was originally built as a hospital in 1653 by the noble Usimbardi Family on the Colle Val d’Elsa. It is not in the countryside but just outside Florence, in the historic center of Colle Val d'Elsa, an enchanting medieval town in one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany, such as Siena and the Crete Senesi, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, Volterra and the vine covered hills of Chianti.  

 

Rooms:
The Palazzo San Lorenzo includes both rooms and apartments which define a new type of living space. The rooms and apartments are listed below:

- The Classic Rooms are ideal for one or two people who want to enjoy a charming Tuscan vacation;
- The Superior Deluxe Rooms are there for the whole family. Both the classic and delux rooms feature large living space with modern design;
- The Suite is the best of the rooms and is ideal for those traveling in large groups. 

Apartments:
Along with rooms, the hotel also has apartments which can be ideal accommodations from four to six people. There are six apartments in the hotel and they are listed below:

- The Porta Nova is an apartment which is located on the first floor and is ideal for four people. The apartment includes a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and one bedroom;
- The La Piazzetta is an apartment on the ground floor which can accommodate six people. It has a double living room with a double sofa bed, a kitchen, bathroom, a master bedroom with a king size bed and a separate bedroom with two twin beds;
- The La Cisterna is a smaller apartment on the ground floor which can accommodate four people. This apartment features outside stairs with a panoramic view of the Colle Val d”Elsa, and has a large living room with a sofa bed, bedroom, kitchen, and sofa bed;
- The Il Torrione is an apartment on the first floor for six people with a panoramic view of the town. This spacious apartment with a large living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom;
- The Il Piano is a small apartment located on the ground floor which can accommodate four people, and features arched ceilings, and a wonderful airy layout. This apartment has a living room with a sofa bed, a kitchen, bathroom, and a bathroom with a king size bed.

Amenities:
The hotel has a unique blend of multifunctional space which has both the plain look and is accented with more recent pieces of art to make it that right blend of the old and contemporary. Some of the amenities in the hotel are listed below:

- The Restaurant “Sopre Le Mure” offers some of the finest dining in the Colle Val d’Elsa.
