Just a little more about our trip. We loved the package you put together! It made everything so easy and pleasant! Clearly a lot of thought went into putting it together. The hotels were great! No issues. The room in the hotel in Monterosso was the least well appointed, but the awesome deck overlooking the sea made up for that many times over. We loved the car/boat ride to the hotel from the airport in Venice! Sienna is quiet on a Sunday, but we did seek out some nice views from the city walls and enjoyed a gelato and some people watching on the square. The walking tours of Venice and Florence were excellent for learning a little about the city and getting your bearings in the city. The guides for both walking tours were very good. The trip to Murano and Burano was probably the least interesting. The guide on the boat was very good, but the demonstrations were shorter than the sales pitch for their wares.
We enjoyed the gondola ride (a must do in Venice) and the pizza, gelato making class. The chef was fun and knowledgeable. Travelling by train was very pleasant. A couple of tweaks to the itinerary for us, in hindsight, would be one more night in Monterosso, and stopping in Pisa on the way to Florence and spending the night instead of taking the day trip by bus out of Florence. The hike out of Moterosso was challenging, but well worth it and one of our favorite days of the trip.
