Under the Yellow Hood: Ferrari Museum in Modena

DAY TRIP

These cars are for millionaires. So expensive that sometimes it is hard to believe that people actually buy them. Indeed, there is no chance to get a Ferrari just like that off the assembly line. They are individual luxury products that the majority of us can only dream about … or see, touch and even test if you are planning to visit Modena.

Known as the Motor Valley, this region of Northern Italy is famous for its racing cars. Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini are all routed to this place. That is why under the futuristic yellow roof of the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena (designed as a giant yellow Ferrari hood) you will find a democratic exposition showcasing different contemporary and historic Formula-1 champions including, of course, the “prancing horse” models.

And this is going to be only the first part of your Ferrari journey.

If you move several kilometers further, you can visit also Museo Ferrari Maranello dedicated exclusively to the famous sports car manufacturer. Won trophies and the winners, the fastest Ferrari cars ever, are all here.

Besides, it is here that you can sit in an authentic Ferrari and step on the gas. The ultra-sensitive F1 Driving Experience simulator will realistically reproduce every second of a Gran Prix race. And don’t blame the museum if it doesn’t let you drive in the open air. The cutting-edge technology has reached a stellar level, and nowadays even professional F-1 pilots are trained in a virtual way.

Let’s better thank the museum. Luckily here you don’t have to be Roman Abramovich, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, David Beckham, Arnold Schwarzenegger or Lionel Messi to feel the power of the Ferrari engine.
