You may recall that we did not go to La Traviata as the performance date did not work out, but we did go to a performance (that you arranged) of arias performed in a church that was one of the highlights of our trip.

It was wonderful! Turandot is my favorite opera, and seeing it in Italy is something that won’t be easily forgotten! Amazing – for as many times as I’ve seen Turandot in New York, the set design was interpreted totally differently in Rome – a bit more scandalous! I loved it!

Thank you for arranging a contrada dinner the night before Siena’s famous Palio. It was a fantastic experience. In the contrada’s main piazza we had a multi-course dinner that lasted past midnight. Throughout the evening the crowd of people from the contrada (Nicchio) — and especially the long tables full of children — sang songs in support of their part of the city.
