We had the greatest time on our Italy trip. We got to see so much but at a pace that was comfortable for us. The hotels were beautiful and in such great locations. It felt like we were near everything in each city but far enough away to feel less busy. There were amazing restaurants within walking distance of each hotel on our itinerary. The transportation portion of the trip was great. Every car, boat, or train transfer was seamless. It really took the stress out of the travel days.
I think we have all agreed that Hotel Carollo was probably our favorite hotel. The rooms had such a beautiful view and we were really able to relax and enjoy the gorgeous setting. The Limoncello Spritz is now our favorite cocktail.
We also loved San Gimignano and the wine tasting at Casa Emma. It was picturesque. We also enjoyed our hotel in Florence and the location. I loved seeing Cinque Terre, but again I would have loved a longer hike there. The scenery was magnificent and I am so happy I was able to experience it, but it was a very long day for everyone.
The only recommendation I would make would be to reverse the order of the itinerary. I would love to start north, with the longer flight, and end in Sorrento where we were able to kick back and just relax.
We can’t thank you enough for planning this trip for us. It was my dream trip and you both made it such a memorable experience. We have already recommended Cultural Italy to several people as we were so pleased with everything.
Joe and I would love to visit the Amalfi Coast in February 2025 for an extended visit (at least a month). Is there any person you can refer us to for a place to stay for two people? We would love a place that is within walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, markets, etc. We would love to have the flexibility to cook with nice fresh ingredients but have some nice local restaurants and cafes at our fingertips. Two important things: we don’t feel comfortable driving in Italy so things need to be walking distance away. We also love to bike, hike, and walk so it is important that we have safe areas to do that.
