Oh my goodness, what a fabulous trip you planned for us! It was such a nice mix of culture, history, art, food, and fun for all of us (especially the four teenagers, who said this was our best family trip ever).
The guides were wonderful. Federica guided us for two days in Rome and was so pleasant and knowledgeable. Laura kept us moving in Florence and also had a great wealth of knowledge. And Francesca in Pompeii was able to answer all of our questions and made the time there enjoyable. All three were easy to understand and spoke excellent English. We were slightly disappointed that we were rushed in the Vatican – we didn’t see much of the Museum and made it into the basilica just in time before closing. No fault of Federica’s – they just were closing it early that day as it was close to Easter. Next time we make it to Florence, I’d like to add the Uffizi museum and possibly a tour of the Duoma. Again, Easter weekend made it crowded and limited open times at some sights. Jonathan drove us to Pisa and winery and he was a pleasure. Renalto picked us up in Naples and drove us to Pompeii and then along Amalfi coast the next day. He knew everyone and again was pleasant and helpful! We really enjoyed Hotel Mellini and Hotel de la Ville in Sorrento.
The drivers were all there waiting for us and that was such a relief with 6 of us traveling. They all spoke great English and added commentary during the drives. Our trip to Capri was very fun and relaxing. The views from the chairlift at AnaCapri were outstanding! We really enjoyed our captain Luka, too. The wine tour was a highlight. Connor walked us through the entire process of bio-dynamic farming, wine making process, and then served us a wonderful lunch. It was heavenly. The gelato and pizza making class was fun. We didn’t attend Lo Scoppio del Carro but Laura told us of it. We decided to do Mass at Santa Croce and it was just majestic!
We were nervous using a company found only through internet and not a personal reference but Cultural Italy couldn’t have been better. Thank you so much for your impeccable service. I will definitely recommend you and also feel free to use us as a reference for future clients!
