We had a wonderful time in Tuscany. Overall, the trip was a great success. We just need to come back when we have more time. There's so much more to see and experience.
Here's an overall impression:
Como is lovely, the area around it is lovely. The hotel was excellent (they just need to be honest about their internet problem). Alessandra, our guide, was great.
We enjoyed our stay at Marta's guest house. It is not possible to find it initially without a GPS, but she and her son are very helpful. Pisa was fascinating, Lucca is one of my favorite towns. The wine tasting was great and the walking we did around the town and on the wall was perfect. I loved it!
The drive from Como to Marta's was lovely, even in the rain. We could have spent more time there in nicer weather.
Siena and the surrounding area could easily have taken the whole time. We will just have to come back. We went t a restaurant in Siena that I would recommend, called Zest. The Garden Hotel was also very nice. No complaints. Julia is staying on in Siena and will have more time to scout things out there. We didn't find any leather jackets, although I got a nice handbag in Lucca.
I would recommend your help to anybody that was going to Italy. You were extremely helpful and responsive. I could not have asked for more.
