SEPTEMBER 2018

Hi Nicoletta!

My mom and I had a wonderful time! Each city got better and better! We LOVED Cento! Actually, we liked it much better than Ferrara!

Milan – Our walking tour and seeing The Last Supper was really amazing. Our tour guide was wonderful. She had so much information and really made the experience enjoyable!

Florence – We liked Florence the last time, and liked it again! I think the country side is more of our speed. The private wine tour was our favorite part! Our driver Carlo was hands down our favorite! He was so kind, and full of knowledge and really made our experience that much more enjoyable, above and beyond seeing the wineries, Greve and Montefioralle – which were both so cute and we loved them! We loved sitting at the winery – the weather was beautiful, and the scenery was stunning. I think next time we go, we’d like to spend more time in the hills!

Our day bus trip to San Gimignano, Sienna and a winery was lovely! It was nice to revisit the two towns and also experience a delicious lunch in another wonderful winery! This too, was a very nice day.

Our cooking class in Bologna was so lovely! It was only three of us, so it was really nice to be able to get almost one on one lessons, and I’m looking forward to making some of the dishes that we made in class! It was very fun going through the streets and market with one of the ladies before we headed to the kitchen.

Bologna was definitely our favorite city for sure. Perhaps we feel a connection to it, since our family is from the area, but the location of our hotel to the piazza was perfecto! So many wonderful trattorias to choose from, and the roof top bar at the hotel was just a nice addition to have a little appertivo before dinner!

Cento was wonderful. We had a delicious meal in Ferrara. While we were in Cento, I walked by a memorial and it had a list of names of what appeared to be soldiers, who I assume died in a war. Do you know what this memorial is? I’m curious because our family last names were on the memorial. I don’t know if they’re any relation, but I wanted to look into it, but I couldn’t tell what the memorial was for.

We really overall enjoyed everything so much! Everyone was so kind – at our accommodations, drivers, even people in the stores when we shopped, our cab drivers. Everything. People were just so kind. It really added to our trip.

I will send you some pictures now!!!

Grazie mille,
