DAY 1: ARRIVE IN PALERMO Explore Sicily’s Road of Wine & Taste
Upon arrival at Palermo airport, meet your private driver for transfer to your hotel accommodation. Check in at your hotel. Later, join your guide for a food and wine tour of the city, a unique occasion to eat as a local avoiding touristic places and dive inside into the beauty of the historical city center. Your guide will lead you through the most authentic taverns and will share with you the pleasure of Palermo’s cuisine, famous all around Italy for its tasty, fancy and colorful food. Overnight stay.



DAY 2: PALERMO DISCOVERY
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning half day tour of Palermo to discover even more this city. Meet your guide at the hotel and start your walking tour. Admire the wonderful Massimo Theater, the largest opera house in Italy, then visit one of the most colorful and traditional historical markets in the city “u Capu” where history, tradition and street food are mixed with voices and faces of the people of Palermo. Through narrow streets and ancient buildings we reach the Norman Cathedral, where we will also visit the tomb of Frederick II of Swabia.

The tour continues to the Sicilian Parliament houses 3000 years of history including the Palatine Chapel resplendent with mosaics, best example of Arab, Byzantine and Norman art, policy and tolerance. After the tour, you will visit a winery near Palermo and enjoy some wine tasting and lunch. Return to your hotel. Overnight stay.

DAY 3: THE MEDIEVAL HAMLET OF ERICE AND THE SALT ROAD
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure direction Western Sicily with first stop in the ancient seaside town of Marsala. Here we will visit a local winery’s cellar and taste the famous Sicilian wine, Marsala as well as local products. We continue our excursion to Erice, driving on the scenic drive through the iconic salt flats around Trapani. Upon arrival at Mount Erice, where the village is nestled, visit of a local pastry shop to discover its delicious marzipan cookies, made by scratch daily. Cookie tasting included. Return to Palermo. Overnight stay.

DAY 4: AGRIGENTO VALLEY OF TEMPLES
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure to Agrigento and the famous Valley of Temples, the impressive  Archeological Park home of 8 well preserved Greek Temples, dated back to 510 and 430 BC. After a guided visit of Agrigento, continue to Piazza Armerina to visit the Roman Villa and its mosaics, built by the Romans during the 3rd and 4th century A.C. Stop for lunch at a local winery for wine tasting. Check in at your hotel in Piazza Armerina. Overnight stay.

DAY 5: CALTARIGIONE THE CITY OF SICILIAN CERAMIC
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure to Caltarigione, famous for ceramics and pottery production: visit a ceramics studio and chance to shop. Continue to Modica where you will visit the the Antica Dolceria Bonajuto, Sicily’s oldest chocolate factory and have the chance to taste the sweet treat. After, you will head to Ragusa to visit the historical center, Ragusa Ibla, and enjoy a wine tasting. Check in at your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 6: BAROQUE TOWN OF NOTO AND WINE TASTING
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure to Noto, considered by many Sicily’s most beautiful baroque town. Guided tour of the historical center followed by lunch. Continue to Avola, famous for its beautiful white beaches, almond pastry specialties and the famous red wine – Nero d’Avola. Stop to a local winery before heading to Siracusa. Check in at your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 7: ORTIGIA  ISLAND AND ICONIC TAORMINA
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning walking tour of Siracusa, a magnificent example of Magna Grecia art, culture and birthplace of Archimedes. Continue the visit with Ortigia, the old city center, with its spectacular cathedral built upon the site of the Temple of Minerva. Lunch on your own. Continue to Taormina, also known as the “Jewel of the Ionic”. Visit the iconic Greek Theater, one of the most celebrated ruins of Sicily. Check in at your hotel. Overnight stay.

DAY 8: CONQUERING MT. ETNA
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning excursion to Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active Volcano. Tour will be conducted in 4×4  Jeeps to reach an altitude of 9186 feet. Following the excursion, stop to a wine cellar and visit the production and taste Etna PGI labeled wines and Sicilian specialties. Return to Taormina and free time for last minute shopping or just relax in one of the cozy cafes. Overnight stay.

DAY 9: DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel. Private transfer to Catania airport and departure. Arrivederci!
