My husband and I began planning our 25th wedding anniversary trip in mid-2019. We found Cultural Italy through Zicasso and they immediately put us in touch with Monica Peretto, a highly knowledgeable travel agent who actually lives in northern Italy.
Monica worked with us to create a truly one-of-a-kind experience in the Amalfi Coast and Sicily. We are active, love food and wine, and we’re up for the adventure. She booked long, private hikes with people who know the land the way we know our Chicago neighborhood. We took a private cooking class with Chef Guillermo on his family farm where he basically grows everything we used to cook with. We toured the Gambino winery in Sicily, had the most fabulous lunch, and sat down with the winemaker. And we took a four-hour walking tour of historic Ortigia and Siracusa with a working archeologist as our guide.
Monica was communicative, friendly, and incredibly helpful every step of the way. When our trip we derailed because of Covid, she helped us re-book everything 2 1/2 years later. And while we were on our trip, she made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. She even spent months helping my husband plan a beautiful and poignant surprise vow renewal ceremony overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. I cannot say enough good things about Monica and Cultural Italy. We will be back!
