Day 1: Welcome to Vulcano
Thermal springs & cave exploration
Meet your English-speaking driver at your Palermo hotel and transfer to the port of Milazzo. There, your guide will join you for the ferry ride to the dramatic island of Vulcano. After checking into your hotel, begin your discovery of the island with a relaxing stroll through the village. Visit the crystalline waters of the Grotte dell’Allume, and rejuvenate with a soak in the island’s natural mud baths or thermal springs. Spend the rest of your afternoon unwinding at your own pace. Dinner at leisure. Overnight stay in Vulcano.
Day 2: Lipari
Ancient history and Pumice cliffs
After breakfast, travel by ferry to Lipari, historically known as Meligunis. Once ashore, your guide will take you to the island’s impressive Archaeological Museum, showcasing relics from the prehistoric, Greek, and Roman periods. Explore the Cathedral of San Bartolomeo, with its beautiful baroque façade and peaceful cloister. Enjoy lunch on your own in the charming Piazzetta di Monfalcone, then continue by car to the white pumice quarries, a testament to the island’s volcanic activity and economic heritage. Return to Vulcano. Dinner at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 3: Panarea & Stromboli

Today, set out to explore two contrasting islands: Panarea and Stromboli. Begin with Panarea, the smallest and most exclusive of the Aeolian Islands. Your private guide will lead you to the prehistoric village of Capo Milazzese and the turquoise waters of Cala Junco, perfect for a swim. Continue on to Stromboli, one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Walk through the village, visit the Church of San Lorenzo, and take in spectacular panoramic views. At sunset, watch the mesmerizing eruptions of Sciara del Fuoco from the sea—a dramatic natural show. Return to Vulcano in the evening. Dinner at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 4: Salina
Wine traditions & volcanic sunsets
After breakfast, board a boat for Salina, the greenest island in the archipelago and filming location of the beloved movie Il Postino. Known to the ancient Greeks as Didyme, Salina is famed for its Malvasia wine and capers. Visit an archaeological site and a local museum with your private guide before indulging in the island’s best granita. Then, enjoy a Malvasia wine tasting at a renowned vineyard. Back on Vulcano, those with energy to spare can hike to the crater’s summit (approx. 1.5 hours each way) to witness an unforgettable sunset view over the islands. Dinner at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, take the ferry back to Milazzo, where your private driver will be waiting to transfer you to Catania Airport. Bid farewell to the volcanic beauty, ancient ruins, and island rhythms of the Aeolian archipelago. Arrivederci!
