DAY TRIP
Endless sky made of bright lanterns at Objets Nomades by Louis Vuitton.
Perhaps the longest queue of the Milan Design Week 2019, and definitely one of the strongest emotions. Exhibition “Objets Nomades” (or Nomadic Objects) by Louis Vuitton at Palazzo Serbelloni features the Home collection of the luxury French fashion brand.
Louis Vuitton Home collection might sound as a contradiction itself given the adventurous spirit of the founder of the Maison. Today the collection counts only 40 objects, each designed for a hypothetic “wanderer who has no fixed room”. It is the contemporary manifesto of the nomadic lifestyle epitomized into very special objects, none of which is meant to be contained in predetermined boundaries forever.
Therefore, all Objets Nomades are transformable, modular and transportable.
But what really impresses about the Louis Vuitton exhibition is the breathtaking “sky” made of white lanterns. Hundreds and hundreds, they fill the whole space singing silent songs about the adventures to come and new horizons to explore.
