DAY 1: ARRIVE IN MILAN
Upon arrival at Milano airport, meet your private driver for transfer to your hotel/accommodation. After check in, afternoon on your own to discover the Navigli, Milan’s canals. Evening at leisure or option for an evening opera or concert at famed Teatro alla Scala. Overnight stay.
DAY 2: CAPTURING MEMORIES
Breakfast at the hotel. A professional photographer and a true Milanese will guide you through Milan’s secret courtyards and walkways for the perfect background for romantic photos. Visit the Pinacoteca in Brera Art Gallery, which hosts the famous ‘Il Bacio’ (The Kiss), and continue into the surrounding botanical gardens and throughout the hidden corners of the city. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon, visit Santa Maria delle Grazie, to admire the world’s most celebrated painting by Leonardo da Vinci, The Last Supper. Continue to the historical center of Milan to the magnificent Gothic cathedral on Piazza Duomo. Stroll around and walk through the world’s oldest shopping center Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. DAY 3: VERONA, THE CITY OF LOVE
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure to Verona and check-in to the historic hotel Il Sogno di Giulietta, in the famous courtyard setting with Juliet’s Balcony. As the setting of Shakeaspeare’s tragedy Romeo and Juliet, Verona’s sites are there for you to explore. You will first admire Piazza Brà, the most important square in Verona with its many historical buildings, bars and restaurants along the wide sidewalk called ‘Liston’. On this square you will see the roman Arena, the medieval city walls and the ‘Gran Guardia Nuova’ completed during the Austrian occupation.
You will then walk to Porta Borsari, one of the Roman entrances to the city and then reach Piazza delle Erbe, the market square filled with colors and inviting smells. Your journey continues to Piazza dei Signori and to the tombs of the Della Scala family members. You will also see the houses of both Romeo and Juliet: two buildings from the XIVth century. Optional evening opera or concert at the Arena. Overnight stay.
DAY 4: EXCURSION TO SIRMIONE AND LAKE GARDA
Breakfast at the hotel. A tour to discover Lake Garda in its beauty. You will pass through the countryside and reach Peschiera del Garda: here you will choose between getting on board of a motorboat or continue on the minivan to get to Sirmione, depending on the weather conditions and the availability of the boat. Sirmione will surprise you: this medieval village with its castle narrow lanes and old shops is incredibly beautiful.
You can choose to walk at your own pace or follow a guided tour to explore the village. You will return to Verona with unforgettable memories. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay.
DAY 5: VENICE, THE CITY OF ROMANCE
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure to Venice. Check in at the hotel. In the afternoon tour of this amazing city. Admire the quaint streets, St. Mark’s Square and Basilica, the Bridge of Sights, the Doge’s Palace, the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. Enjoy a romantic sunset gondola ride. Evening at leisure. DAY 6: LAGOON ISLANDS EXCURSION
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, explore the Lagoon Islands: Murano made famous for its glassware, Burano for its lacemaking and brightly-colored cottages and the first settlement Torcello. Afternoon at leisure. Optional evening opera or concert. Overnight stay.
DAY 7: THE CITY OF THE RENAISSANCE
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure by high-speed train to Firenze. After check in at your hotel, join an afternoon tour to the Accademia museum that hosts Michelangelo’s masterpiece, the David. You will also be able to admire The Prisoners and St Matthew, other impressive Michelangelo’s work of arts. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay.
DAY 8: TASTES OF FLORENCE
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning tour of the Uffizi museums to admire the masterpieces of Florence’s finest Renaissance artists such as Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Giotto, Cimabue, Masaccio. Join an afternoon pizza and gelato making class, a great experience to share together and bring back a recipe for friends and family.
You will learn how to make tender, flexible yeast dough that stretches to almost paper-thinness, and how to combine the correct ingredients and the heating and freezing techniques and how they have different effects on ingredients. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay.
DAY 9: FOR THE LOVE OF ROME
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure by high-speed train to Rome and check in at your hotel in the city center. Visit Rome’s most famous sights, discover the meaning behind the name of the Spanish Steps, see the monumental Trevi Fountain, and walk the length of Piazza Navona, crowned by Bernini’s impressive Fountain of the Four Rivers. Then it’s on to the Pantheon to see what was once the world’s largest dome. You will also learn the secrets of the painter Raphael’s death when you will visit his grave inside. Evening at leisure. DAY 10: ANCIENT ROME
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning tour to discover the heart of Ancient Rome including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, the Arch of Constantine, Palatine Hill, the birthplace of Ancient Rome and the location of some of its oldest and most impressive ruins, where you will learn the legend of twins Remus & Romulus, founders of Rome. Optional evening opera or concert. Overnight stay.
DAY 11: THE VATICAN
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Vatican and enjoy its many treasures with over 2,000 rooms filled with artifacts from human history from the ancient Egyptians to modern day. The crowning jewel of this museum is Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel. Your tour guide will give insight into the massive undertaking history, meaning and symbolism. See another of Michelangelo’s masterpiece, La Pieta, the only piece that Michelangelo signed.
Stand in front of the Throne of Peter and see the optical illusions Bernini used to create this majestic piece. The bones of Peter himself rest as a footstool to the throne, culminating one of the greatest icons of Christendom. In the late afternoon enjoy a food walking tour in Trastevere. Overnight stay.
DAY 12: DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel. Private transfer to the airport and departure with new memories to cherish. Arrivederci!
