Milan Expo 2015

SPECIAL EVENT
The next World Exposition will take place in Milan between May 1st and October 31st, 2015 with other 142 participating countries. The proposed theme is “Feeding the planet, energy for life” and includes everything related to nutrition, from the lack of food in some areas of the world to nutrition education, to issues related to GMOs.

EXPO Art Exhibitions

ART EXHIBITIONS
The 2015 Expo is hosting twenty-six major exhibitions, to represent art in all its aspects: from genes such as Leonardo and Giotto to photography artworks by David Bailey and Edward Burtynsky Watermark, plus architecture and science. The showcases will be housed in the city’s museums and other exhibition venues, and will be welcoming visitors until January 2016.

Milano Fashion Week 2015 opens today and goes till March 2nd. The attention this year goes to the female style and will reveal fresh ideas for the next Fall Winter Collections 2015-16.

Vitraria

Vitraria is not just not another museum in Venice. It is an interesting project, a permanent museum dedicated to the glass in all its forms, and different from the classic Murano glass. It is situated in the magnificent Palazzo Barbarigo Nani Mocenigo, in the museum mile, just opposite the church of San Trovaso.

KISS at the Arena di Verona

Just imagine the surreal encounter between the Arena, aplace older than the Colosseum, and which has seen the history of the world, hosting the – in my opinion – world’s most famous living rock band. A show per se. Kiss too, have seen the history of rock unfolding.

It would be hard to single out any one thing about the trip because we enjoyed so much. Barbara has already mentioned the opera in Venice, to which I would add a Vivaldi concert in a church near the Accademia, and of course the opera in Rome.
