The NEW way of Travel

NEWS

There is a saying ‘the only way out is through.’ In this age of COVID-19 the travel industry has prioritized the health and safety of travelers. As we navigate our ‘new normal’ together and as Italy begins to re-open, we wanted to share ways that new regulations are keeping us all safer and healthier and how our hotel partners are going above and beyond in some incredible and reassuring ways.

Government regulations require increased sanitation procedures for all locations and public transportation and required social distancing for indoor and outdoor destinations. Additionally, air conditioning and quality air flow is required for indoor spaces. For museums and galleries, pre-screening including temperature monitoring are required for entry and some areas that social distancing is not possible are remaining closed. Hotels are also operating at a lower capacity to ensure enough time for proper sanitation between guests. This also includes pre-screening for all employees and partners entering the hotels and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and strict social distancing and sanitation standards. Employees are required to be trained on prevention and sanitation procedures and increased cleaning and sanitization must occur in common areas.

But many hotels are taking extra precautions beyond those requirements, including pre-screening and health declarations. The Sina Hotel Line created the “Travel Safety with Sina Hotels” and partnered with health experts to go beyond government regulations. Streamlining their check-in procedures and giving guests PPE upon checkin are part of their new protocols. New socially distant pathways, extra sanitizing procedures for rooms, and increased air circulation are others. Technology gives guests access on personal devices to menus and replacing buffet service with table and room service, and improved remote meeting technologies for conference rooms are other methods they implemented to help reduce exposure.

For hotels like Mandarin Oriental in Lake Como, their “We Care” Program includes personalized service to address any concerns for each guest. Additionally, Thermographic CCTV cameras which monitor body temperature have been installed throughout the property. Fonteverde Spa in Tuscany has a dedicated COVID-19 Unit and medical staff dedicated to keeping all staff and guests safe. Further requirements expand to the transportation services used to transport guests to and from the property.

For Cultural Italy, our priority is the safety and health for all of our clients. This has never changed and will remain our focus. Our hotel and other travel partners are screened to ensure these priorities. If you are planning any trip with us, we will provide specific and thorough details for every destination and experience.  Together we navigate through and come out of these times together to enjoy la dolce vita, the sweet life.
