NEWS
There is a saying ‘the only way out is through.’ In this age of COVID-19 the travel industry has prioritized the health and safety of travelers. As we navigate our ‘new normal’ together and as Italy begins to re-open, we wanted to share ways that new regulations are keeping us all safer and healthier and how our hotel partners are going above and beyond in some incredible and reassuring ways.
OPERA, BALLET & CONCERT SEASON
Teatro Comunale, the famed opera house of Bologna begins its life in 1763. Formed from stone in the Baroque style, the opera house was built to replace the wooden Teatro Malvezzi which was destroyed by fire in 1745.
ART & EXHIBITIONS
A unique exhibition opens in Milan featuring twenty of the 35 surviving works of Sicilian Master Antonello da Messina. The exhibit, Antonello da Messina: Dentro la pittura curated by Giovanni Carlo Federico Villa, gives audiences the opportunity to see works that have been gathered from across the globe.
CELEBRATE LOVE!
An Italian song of over 50 years ago recounted of how strange it felt to be in love in Milan, a city "with no flowers or sky, where you go on a date in a shopping mall". But Milan, as we know, is now so much more; not just the most livable city in Italy, but the epicenter of fashion, finance, design, nightlife. And yes, it can be full of romance too. So, on this February 14th, and throuout the year, let it be the scenario for you and your Valentine.
EXHIBITION
The one 20th century artist whose influence can truly be seen in today’s pop culture is Andy Warhol. His trajectory as both artist and influencer is what the exhibit ANDY WARHOL SUPERSTAR! recreates in an experience for visitors to comprehend the impact and significance of his work.
Italy is a country with great passion expressed in its architecture, art, and cuisine. This passion is also evident in the politcal expression of Italy. We sometimes receive concerns from travelers about traveling safely within Italy. We can assure them Italy remains one of the safest places to travel in Europe and around the globe. Italians are a people with great energy and conviction. These traits are central to the great achievements of Italy and Italians throughout history.
ART NEWS
While many discoveries have resulted in financial windfalls, none have fetched the price tag like the Salvator Mundi, by Leonardo Da Vinci. At a shocking $450.3 Million Salvator Mundi was auctioned off at Christies in November, making this the highest selling art in history. While the Salvator Mundi makes art auction history, the journey to get here starts with some mystery.
FOOD EVENT
Imagine visiting your local farmers market inside a park complete with working farms, educational tours and shopping centers with local eco-friendly products. What was once imagined has become FICO Eataly World, the world’s large agri-food park, now open outside Bologna.
WINTER ACTIVITIES
While summer travel draws crowds to Italy with warm weather and outdoor activities, winter vacations can be magical with holiday celebrations, winter activities and fewer tourists. Christmas in Italy is just as big if not bigger than in the United States.

Our trip was fantastic! All the hotels were great. We had so much fun at the cooking class. Loved Italy and all the history. We really liked not having to worry about rides from the airport, it’s nice to have someone waiting for you.
